Brief Summary of Build

A John Calveit control deck that opens up strong early, takes control of the round and then defends that position with the various silver and gold cards available. This deck has many deck thinning elements, letting you very reliably have access to all of the situational cards that allow this deck to perform so well.

Alba Pikeman as your first play to let them roll out over the next several turns as you build up your board. John Calveit as your second play, pulling all the Imperial Golems out of your deck and playing yet another card from your deck. The Guardian should be played if you get it, but after that you either have enough strength on board to pass and win the round or make them play several units to win the round, giving you card advantage for rounds 2 and 3.

In rounds 2 and 3 you are just trying to maintain slight strength advantage while dictating what they do with your Rot Tossers, Villentretenmerth and various reactive cards, such as Auckes, Vanhemar and Peter Saar Gwynleve. Tibor Eggebracht and Cynthia are your finishers and you should either use them to close out round 2 or outright win round 3.

Cahir is great in Round 3 when your deck only has a few cards remaining, letting you choose what you need from your remaining cards.

Card Combos

Rot Tossers make this deck, forcing your opponent to play around them or use some of their removal on them.

Impera Enforcers are great for just a solid bit of strength that can also tell you what is on top of your deck for a potential Vilgefortz.

First Light is great for all the weather currently being played, but also at thinning your deck out later to increase your draw chance for certain cards. With almost all of the bronze cards being pulled out of the deck early on, you can very reliably hit a Vicovaro Medic or Rot Tosser as needed.

Roach is almost just there to add a bit of strength in rounds 1 or 2, but also thins your deck out.

General Guide

This deck is great against the current meta, which is mostly comprised of other Nilfgaard decks, Skellige discard, Scoia'Tael dwarves and Monster Wild Hunt.

Cards like Peter Saar Gwynleve, Cynthia and Villentretenmerth are great at dealing with high strength Nilfgaard. Auckes is great against Skellige discard, along with Vicovaro Medic when you have first action against their Queensguard. You have two first lights and a Vanhemar to deal with any weather you may have issues with.
