Brief Summary of Build

UPDATE

-3xTrebuchet, +3xBallista

Reasons:

1. Ballistas are better at setting up scorch targets

2. Ballistas minimizes your opponents igni value

3. Threbuchets and Ballistas avg value is almost the same.

UPDATE

Hi everyone

I am a proud member of the Fourth Row!   The Fourth Row is an international, multi platform Gwent community; comprised of 4000mmr and above members. A couple of weeks ago I shared my No Vran Consume deck (http://www.gwentdb.com/decks/36023-top-20-no-vran-consume) on GwentDB. A lot of you enjoyed it, so I have decided to share the deck I have been using for the last week or so on the ladder.

Disclaimer: A lot of similar decks have been shared already, so don’t expect anything revolutionary. It’s simply a very solid Henselt variant for the ladder.

Card Combos

Thaler + Dun banner light cavalry for a free spy

Natalis+Horn for 26 tempo

Henselt + Machine for a lot of points as well

You probably know most of this stuff, so i wont make a long list

General Guide

If you win coinflip, its’ almost a guaranteed victory. If your opponent opens up with more than 9 strength you can play Thaler to activate your light cavalry and force your opponent to either go 2 cards down or give up the round on even cards. If you lose the coinflip you want to start of with Rondovid since he will increase the value of your machines significantly. If you are playing against a deck without carryover, this also prevents a drypass from your opponent.

Otherwise it’s pretty straight forward. Try to achieve maximum value for your machines while setting up a sweet schorch. This variant doesn’t have a card above 7 (except Rondovid) which means it is extremely easy to get some massive scorch values. Try to save Villen for your r3 finisher and be careful your opponent doesn’t play a spy to counter it.

Matchups:

Henselt:

Most variants run Siegetowers, meaning your scorch should be able to find huge value. Most mirrors is determined based on which player manages to get his Light cavalry out and who gets the best scorch.

Foltest:

Try to kill his Blue Stripes so he can’t reaver scout into them.

Bran:

Tough matchup. Abuse an early Thaler if you win coinflip. Try to outtempo him r1 very quicly, so he doesn’t have a target for his Freyas.

Unseen Elder:

You have all the tools to prevent his nekker train. Muzzle the first one and start killing the rest of them while they are weak. Should be a fairly good matchup as long as you answer the nekkers early.

Spellatel:

Very easy. Kill units on melee and ranged row to prevent ale value. Scorch and Villen will give you an easy victory in r3.

Eredin/Movement/any hevy weather deck:

Can be tricky, but as long as you rowstack you should be good due to the overall powerlevel of this deck.

Card Replacements

You can use any machines you want really. The weakest one is probably Trebuchet, so I would change that one first. Stay away from siege towers though. They will weaken your scorch significantly

You can also swap Magarita for another tactic. For golds muzzle is a flex slot, depending on what you see on the ladder.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Good luck on the ladder!
