posted a message on New leaders - crafted only?

Hey guys! So I was eager to log in today and get to work on the new leader challenges, but as far as I can tell, it seems you can only acquire them via crafting. Has there been any word as to whether or not they'll only ever be accessible by crafting them, or are there new leader challenges in the works? I just don't want to throw away scraps if they'll soon be available for free when I already have a handful of new golds to make.

Top 150 player here. Don't mulligan Ermion away. Don't pass to gold weather and a Roach, especially when you won the coinflip. You'll win a lot more, I promise. ;)

posted a message on How to beat Mill?

Okay, so here's the real way to beat mill without teching in cards that would hurt your matchups against everyone else. If you have thinning elements in your deck, keep anything in your hand that you would otherwise mulligan (BSCs, etc). Defeating mill requires altering your strategy at the beginning of the game- if you mulligan/premeditate your gameplan the way you would against any other deck, you're automatically at a disadvantage. Killing Avallac'h isn't entirely necessary- mill's strategy relies on very low tempo plays to generate massive CA and take the game through, you guessed it, low tempo plays. Having high enough tempo is key, and generally speaking, you never want to let them see R3. 2-0 them every time, and if you can't you probably lost. Anyway, hope that helps. Cheers :)

posted a message on Mulligan Scoia'tael Op this patch?

It's a slight overtuning issue with the Officers, but a lot of people also neglect the fact that the power ceiling of bronzes in general has been dramatically increased with this patch. The removal of gold immunity has incentivized CD:PR to direct the focus of deck building to the bronze core, rather than the R3 gold finisher. Folks are seeing these massive 150 point rounds that mulligan is now capable of (albeit spending all but perhaps one card R1 to achieve such a high number) and freaking out, saying it's overpowered, when in fact that same amount of power can be achieved by new armor-flood archetypes rolling around in NR. The difference is that mulligan ST, with the aid of the overtuned Officers, can achieve the power ceiling with the least amount of setup/sequencing. An easy way to balance this is to drop the Officers' base power back down to 4, or perhaps even 3. It'll be a big enough hit to make a difference without breaking the now-viable mulligan archetype.

posted a message on Open Crags Injustice

I used to complain about never being lucky myself. Then this happened last night, so I really can't say that anymore, lul. The ironic part, though, is that from the 3 to choose from at the end, Yen the Conjurer was one of them, and I crafted her LITERALLY 30 minutes before opening this. At least Stefan Skellen was a dupe so I got some of my scraps back from him... T.T

posted a message on Lock an ambush card

    In-game description:

"Lock: Disables a card's abilities. Disables and turns over Ambushes. Prevents a Unit from counting towards a Trio."

I've double checked, and this same prompt appears for DShackles. I also have had this problem, and have lost a couple games from it. It's been a known bug for a couple weeks now. There's a couple posts regarding it on the official CDPR forums, and they're more than likely going to assess it in the next hotfix. Cheers :)

    posted a message on Vesemir

It's highly doubtful that the new golden Vesemir will have any affiliation with our current silver one. The most likely scenario is that there will be a new version of him, just like there are multiple versions of Yennifer, Triss, Geralt, Zoltan, Regis and Ciri already. The only difference in question is that the aforementioned characters' cards/versions are all golden, and Vesemir will be the first with both gold and silver counterparts. I personally don't think they're going to change our current silver muster witchers, though.

posted a message on CDPR Show Nilfgaard some love

I personally play a variant of the Calveit scorch deck on ladder, 4.1k range (4230 high) currently with a steady 60% winrate over 85 games. Had a bit of an unlucky streak recently and dropped a bit, but in all honestly, it was mostly due to my own misplays/tilt. Like recently stated, misplays as NG will often cost you the entire game. It's not an easy faction, but I personally find it one of the most rewarding decks to play and pull off when it works. NG definitely isn't in it's best state, with decks like reveal and spy archetypes beginning to falter at the higher tiers, but I think we'll see some nice balance changes in the near future. With some of the new cards being released soon, I foresee the spy archetype becoming viable again at the very least.

posted a message on New cards in August

I don't think we're going to see a change to the current muster silver witchers. This (appropriately gold) Vesemir will more than likely just be an alternate iteration of him, such as Geralt, Triss and Yen's alternate versions. It's a tad bit odd that one version of him is silver and the other gold, though, but I highly doubt crafting the silver variant is going to affect anything in regards to the new content patch.

posted a message on Mulligan - What a piece of crap...

Gotta love when you're one game away from 4250 and your opening hand has three Imperial Golems, two Alba Pikemen and a fucking Roach. xD
But yeah, I definitely see how the system could use a bit of work, especially in regards to the statistical odds of seeing your mulliganed cards the next round. If you're coming into too many issues with the system, I recommend maybe trying a deck with less thinning elements that directly rely on your opening hand (like in my case, lmao). Even then, though, the aforementioned game was literally maybe the second or third completely unworkable hand I've had in 85 games with my current Calveit deck. I guess I've never had quite as bad experiences with it, but to each their own.

@IBTG_revive @Durien  Alright, how bout this. I apologize if my initial comment was in any way perceived as degrading or tasteless, and also for the following crass remarks. This whole thing has been skewed out of proportion.. no harm was meant to come from it, but I'm sorry for stirring the pot to begin with. How bout we just drop it. I have no ill intent towards anyone on here, so let's get the positive vibes back on and get the conversation back on the topic of the game. :)

posted a message on Will the Machine archetype be really viable next patch?

Reaver Hunters are only really OP in a scenario where you have no answer, but can usually be handled accordingly with resets, locks, etc. Of course there will be a fair deal of situations where a strong draw, CA, Operator, potential Quen with Keira and Henselt finish will tip the scale drastically in their favor, but that's a lot of decks if their strategy is able to be executed well. I think they're okay how they are, even though I don't play NR. Maybe a (very) slight nerf, but nothing more than that.
