posted a message on Homecoming Info

I don't have a chance to check out Reddit much, or most any other site dedicated to Gwent besides this one, so I wanted to start a thread and ask if any people in the know, know of any details that have emerged since the initial announcement?

How many cards will be changed?

    Any new cards?

Any other details from the mods?

    A set date?

    Any insight is appreciated!

posted a message on No Pass Large Spies - e.g. Frightener
    Quote from LoneAtom >>

It's use to be something most people do. I don't use Frightener. I don't think the risk outweigh the reward enough. I like the Frog prince.

just so you know, everyone uses silver spies at the top of the ladders. That should be an indication to you that they are essential cards in nearly every deck (the only exception I've seen is one NR deck type). Most of the cards in your deck should be worth more than 13 pts, which makes silver spies a must.

As for when to pass- it's entirely situational. It also depends on how much tempo you can generate. It also depends on if your opponent has a silver spy left to use themselves. If you're down 1 card and have a silver spy in your hand, you should typically play down, though if they have a silver spy as well you need to make sure you dont get stuck so far behind that their spy doesnt screw you over.

Just opened my first 47 kegs I had saved up and zero golds. Got an HQ gold on the 48th.

Edit- 150 kegs opened in total- 7 golds (4 HQ)

    About 13 HQ silvers

posted a message on Casual is Bad as of Now

New players would all be scared away from the game if high ranked players could play them at will. Hell, I think above a certain level you shouldnt be able to play casual anymore, or at least they should create a 2nd casual ladder for high level players only (say level 50 and above). CDPR is trying to make money. True casual players would get frustrated and quit in droves if they kept getting paired up with top level players.

posted a message on Auto-include silver spies?

If you play at the very top of the ladders, you will notice that pretty much everyone runs silver spies. Maybe 2-5% of all decks could get away without playing it (NR is the only faction off the top of my head that has a deck that doesnt run one) Though if your opponent is running it and you arent, they have a huge advantage over you. They can flip blue coin on you at will.

posted a message on Fixing Dijkstra

Well CDPR said they lost sight of their original vision for Gwent. Well in Witcher 3 there were loads of spies. So based on that I doubt spies are going anywhere. Though if they do solve the blue coin issue then maybe they will get rid of them. I hope they do. Including getting rid of the draw a card option for Shupe. I've played around with Shupatael a bit and having 2 spies is just unfair. And before anyone says the draw a card isnt always an option- from my play it is an option 80-85% of the time I go for it.

It's fine as is, the change that needs to be made is either Assire can no longer put silver spies back into decks, or silver spies cannot be touched once they hit the graveyard.

posted a message on Max spare cards?

Ive had over 20 duplicate of a single card before. Definitely wait to mill until Homecoming launch if you can. Every card will have 100% refund value.

posted a message on Vicovaro Medic Desperately Needs To Be Nerfed

As title states. Couldn't be more obvious that CDPR has a hard on for Nilfgard, as Vicovaro Medic should have been nerfed big time a long time ago. There are silver (Sigdrifa) and gold (Shani) res units that can't bring back everything Vico Medic can, and in comparison to other bronze res units, it is unreal how overpowered this card is to them. Vico should only be able to res bronze spying units (maybe raise its base power up a bit to compensate, say to 7 or 8). One of the most broken cards in the entire game imo.

I'll save you a troll too, this has nothing to do with butthurt, and 100% to do with game balance. CDPR has spent countless patches making bronzes roughly equal in value based on their abilities across all factions, while Vico sticks out like a sore thumb. To the point where it outvalues any silver res units in the game. It's value in regards to cards with similar abilities is absolutely insane.

posted a message on So Viper Can Target Allies too

If Viper Witchers are changed, it should be a change to doomed, so once Vipers hit the graveyard, they cant be used again. Besides that they're fine as is.

posted a message on CDPR - why are cards like nekker, sabbath, regis and much more still a thing?

Imerlith needs to be nerfed so that he only duels a set number of enemy units, (like 2 or 3)

The only nerf Nekker decks needs is to Nekker Warrior- it should be a 10-12 body that copies only 1 card instead of 2.

I think Regis should be reworked so he has limits on each side. Meaning he can only boost by, say 18 pts max, but he gains at least 10 pts even if no targets are boosted. Something like that at least.

posted a message on New arena mode should be permanent

There are golds that cannot affect other gold cards, and there are gold cards that interract with bronzes or silvers only. So gold isnt the obvious choice everytime.

posted a message on Premium Keg Weekend

You're confusing random with probability. If you flip a coin 100 times, and it comes up heads 60% of the time, it could still come up tails 40 times in a row. So it's random that you open 10 kegs and you get the same exact card, but over 100 kegs you start to see that probability balances that out.

And you're likely to get a duplicate in the situation you described because of simple math. The more cards you have, the more likely you draw a duplicate. It's not some hidden conspiracy to overthrow your own personal video game enjoyment.

Also, you should absolutely open kegs during premium events, regardless of how much of a collection you have. The more HQ cards you have to scrap, the more powder you will have when you mill.

No, it didn't end. It's on until this coming Monday morning. Though it's only Monster premiums if any Monster cards are on the final card choice screen.

I just got a ton of monster premiums this morning.

    Good luck!

    No.

    It is not dying.

    Stop sensationalizing.

Lioncourt, what were your match wait times like this season? I'd imagine it took forever to get matches at times?
